Get ready to book your free place on Lancashire's summer HAF programme

Eligible families across Lancashire will receive an e-voucher next week to allow them to book a place on one of the many holiday activities and food (HAF) clubs taking place this summer.

The HAF programme provides at least 4 hours of activities a day, including a meal, over 16 days of the school summer holiday.

If your child is eligible for a funded place, you will receive an e-voucher by text or email on 3 July 2024. You will need to look out for this.

The text or email will come from hello@holidays who Lancashire County Council have commissioned to send out the vouchers.

The vouchers will be issued by your child’s school and sent to the contact phone number or email account held by them. This will only be used for holiday e-vouchers.

The e-voucher will contain your 16-digit HAF code and will have a link to our HAF webpage, which will signpost you to where you can book a place for your child.

Last summer we had a record 14,632 children and young people attended a HAF club. We have a growing number of providers across the county, with 282 clubs providing places at Easter and we know there will be in more for the summer.

Katherine Ashworth, Head of Service, Early Help, Lancashire County Council: "Our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is very popular and we have introduced a new e-voucher system to make it easier for families to book a place.

"The e-vouchers will be issued by your child’s school and once you have them you can use the 16-digit code to book a place for your child.

"If you are not sure if you are eligible for a place on the HAF programme, ask at your child's school or alternatively at a Family Hub, or a Children and Family Wellbeing service Neighbourhood Centre."

Your child will be eligible for a HAF place if they are entitled to benefits related Free School Meals, regardless of whether you choose to take up that offer.

There are a few other reasons that your child may be eligible, which may be if your child has SEND, an Early Help Plan, is a Young Carer or if your family are being supported by Children's Social Care.
