Pride in Lancashire Awards

Nominations open for Pride in Lancashire Awards celebrating those who go above and beyond

People, groups and organisations making a real difference across Lancashire are set to be recognised through the new Pride in Lancashire Awards.

Lancashire County Council’s Pride in Lancashire Awards aim to shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond for their communities – whether that’s bringing people together, leading local activities, caring for others, or driving positive change in their area.

The awards will be hosted by Lancashire’s own Gregg Stevenson, a veteran and Paralympic gold medallist, who will help celebrate the people making a difference in communities across the county.

They will celebrate the care, commitment and community spirit shown by residents, volunteers, businesses and organisations who help make Lancashire a better place to live, work and visit, inspiring pride in communities across the county.

From supporting others and reducing loneliness to improving local spaces and creating new opportunities for residents, the Pride in Lancashire Awards will highlight the many ways people are helping their communities to thrive.

Nominations for the Pride in Lancashire Awards are now open.

Gregg Stevenson, Paralympic gold medallist and host of the awards, said:

“As a Paralympic gold medallist and Armed Forces veteran, I know the value of hard work, resilience and supporting others.

“I’m really proud to be hosting this year’s Pride in Lancashire Awards.

“We’re looking for people who go above and beyond and who deserve recognition for the difference they make.

“There are so many people across Lancashire quietly doing incredible things in their communities, and this is our chance to recognise them and say thank you.”

The awards form part of the Civic Pride action plan, which has a strong emphasis on practical action and community participation, recognising that small, everyday improvements can make a big difference to how people feel about their local area. This cost neutral initiative focuses on supporting and celebrating the people and communities that make Lancashire special and building pride in the places we live.

Winners will be celebrated at a special awards ceremony on Lancashire Day, November 27, where each winner will receive a Pride in Lancashire Award and an overall winner will be announced.

County Councillor Ella Worthington, cabinet member for Civic Pride, said:

“The Pride in Lancashire Awards are a chance to celebrate the people who make our county such a special place.

"Across Lancashire, there are residents, volunteers, community groups, organisations and businesses who give their time, energy and care to help others and strengthen the places they call home.

"It’s fantastic to have Gregg Stevenson hosting the awards and helping us shine a spotlight on these inspiring stories.

"These awards are about recognising that spirit, sharing inspiring stories and saying thank you to the people who make a real difference every day."

Residents are being encouraged to nominate inspiring individuals, groups, businesses and organisations whose dedication, kindness and action have made a positive difference in their community.

Nominations are open to anyone whose actions reflect the spirit of the awards, recognising a wide range of contributions that demonstrate community pride, kindness, collaboration and a positive impact locally.

Nominating someone is simple and open to everyone. People can complete the nomination form and explain who they are nominating, why they deserve to be recognised and the impact they have made in their community.

Entries should include clear examples of how the nominee has helped others, brought people together, improved local life or created lasting positive change.

Entries will be reviewed by an independent judging panel made up of people with strong links to Lancashire and a shared commitment to celebrating community achievement. Judges will look for nominations that show clear impact, inspiring stories and a positive difference to local people and places.
