Visit Lancashire County Council at this year's Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show

Families heading to this year's Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show can enjoy free activities, practical advice and hands-on experiences at Lancashire County Council's interactive exhibit.

This year, visitors can enjoy an even greater range of activities by stopping by Lancashire County Council's exhibit, where council teams will be on hand to share advice, showcase services and offer fun activities for all ages.

There will be free children's crafts, games and challenges, as well as practical tips and advice from county council teams. Representatives from Road Safety and Highways, Waste, Public Health, Museums, Fostering and Family Hubs will be on hand throughout the show.

Visitors will also have the chance to try specialist equipment used by the county council, including the Batak board, which tests reactions and decision-making under pressure. Younger visitors can also step into the role of a School Crossing Patrol officer.

The show takes place at Salesbury Hall in the heart of Ribchester and offers something for all ages.

All attractions at the show are free to enjoy, including live music, displays and demonstrations, a BMX stunt show, a children's funfair and circus, face painting, show-jumping, a military village, Ferret World and beekeeping displays, alongside shopping and dozens of stalls selling locally sourced food and drink.

The show also marks the beginning of the council's annual summer campaign. This campaign is part of the #OurLancashire programme, designed to build civic pride by supporting communities, showcasing local action, and encouraging a shared responsibility for Lancashire’s people and places.

County Councillor Stephen Atkinson, leader of Lancashire County Council, said:

"Our food and agriculture sector makes a significant contribution to Lancashire, supporting more than 70,000 jobs and generating more than £2 billion for the county’s economy every year.

"The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show is an opportunity to recognise that achievement and the people behind it, while celebrating one of the sectors that continues to make Lancashire such a successful and diverse county.

"It also offers a great day out for families, bringing people closer to the countryside, our farming communities and the agricultural heritage that remains such an important part of Lancashire."

The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show takes place at Salesbury Hall, Ribchester (PR3 3XR), from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
